With two children approaching high school, this family found themselves outgrowing their space. One of the priorities while building their home addition was to maintain the traditional style. We began with windows in the master suite which arch softly over a window seat, and framed them with open, lighted bookcases. The classic moulding provides detail, while space-saving drawers beneath provide plenty of extra storage. In the couple’s master bathroom, a deep, roll-top tub allows her to soak up old world charm, while a contemporary steam shower brightens his mornings. The boy’s bedroom features another cozy window seat, as well as built-in cabinetry that hides shelving for his collection of books, games, and trophies. A sweetly feminine bathroom just off the girl’s room houses a shower with handheld spray and a comfortable bench. Neutral colors allow her to change her accessories as often as her mood.
