Barrington

The village of Barrington located 32 miles Northwest of Chicago and is noted for its Victorian, Victorian Gothic, Queen Anne, and other popular late-nineteenth century forms of architecture . Among Barrington’s notable buildings is the Octagon House, located in downtown Barrington, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The downtown area is also home to the historic Catlow Theater, which features interiors by noted Prairie School sculptor and designer Alfonso Iannelli. Built in 1927, the Catlow is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places and continues to operate as one of the few remaining single-screen theaters in the area.
